Topics such as funding for infrastructure projects in São Paulo, partnerships in health and water security were among the conversations of the day.

The first agenda of the day was with the president of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Nobumitsu Hayashi. The governor presented the infrastructure projects for the coming years in the state. The president of the Japanese development bank was very interested in cooperating with actions, either with expertise or even with project financing.

Afterwards, the governor met with Leif Johansson, president of AstraZeneca, and they discussed joint initiatives for disease prevention. “We propose a partnership with the Butantan Institute for the production of new drugs, and we also discuss the possibility of strengthening the prevention programs already developed by AstraZeneca and that may come to be part of some actions of the Health Department of the State of São Paulo”, declares Tarcísio.

On the sustainable agenda, Johansson stated that the pharmaceutical company wants to become carbon zero and invited Tarcísio to participate in an event on reforestation to happen between the months of March and April.

Another important meeting was with the CEO of the Toyota Research Institute, Gill Pratt, who showed interest in the Tax Reform proposal that the governor intends to implement in the state. Pratt shared the company’s plans for investments in new car models, highlighting the proposed new model of hybrid cars that Toyota wants to launch in Brazil.

They have been working a lot in this line and have technology to use reused water in production processes”, declares the governor.

Also during the morning, Tarcísio de Freitas met with Jeffrey Jaensubhakij, CEO of GIC (Singapore Sovereign Fund). “We presented our portfolio of projects and they were very interested, especially about the Rodoanel auction.
