Exportaciones agrícolas de São Paulo aumentan 9,5% en 2021

La producción del sector en el estado de SP fue de R$ 122 mil millones, un crecimiento del 26% frente a 2020

El gobernador João Doria anunció este miércoles (16) que la agroindustria paulista, en 2021, aumentó sus exportaciones un 9,5% frente a 2020, exportando un total de US$ 18,9 mil millones en el año. Las importaciones también aumentaron un 10,6%, lo que representa un valor de US$ 4,5 mil millones. En 2020, la producción del agronegocio en SP fue de R$ 92 mil millones, mientras que en 2021 fue de R$ 122 mil millones, un crecimiento del 26%.

Según datos del Instituto de Economía Agropecuaria (IEA-APTA), del Ministerio de Agricultura y Abastecimiento, el saldo de la Balanza Comercial de São Paulo fue de US$ 14,3 mil millones, un 9,1% superior al de 2020.

“The growth of agribusiness in SP this last year is very expressive, it represents job creation, income generation, high performance, especially in the use of technology, agricultural equipment, modernization in agribusiness and also in the training, formation and multiplication of agribusiness units here in SP”, said Doria.

The five main sectors in state agribusiness exports were sugar and alcohol (US$ 6.5 billion), soy (US$ 2.57 billion), meat (US$ 2.53 billion), forest products (US$ 1.6 billion) and juices (US$ 1.5 billion), which represent 78.5% of sectoral exports from São Paulo in 2021. The main importing countries of agricultural products from São Paulo were China, the United States and the European Union.

According to IEA researchers, the sugar and alcohol sector had a positive variation of 0.5% compared to 2020, with sugar accounting for 86.4% of the amount exported and alcohol for 13.6%. The soybean sector, on the other hand, grew by 24.4% in 2021, with 84.8% of exports being soybeans.

In the case of the meat sector, there was a 24.4% growth in exports compared to 2020, with beef accounting for 85.4% of international sales. There was also an increase of 9.4% in exports of forest products and 14% in the juice sector. The coffee sector, a traditional producer of agribusiness in São Paulo, ranked sixth, with exports of US$ 708.4 million in 2021, an increase of 15.7% compared to 2020.
