State police in Brazil have recovered two paintings, above, including a Picasso valued at $50 million, that were stolen last month in a predawn break-in at the São Paulo Museum of Art, Reuters reported. The museum’s president, Julio Neves, said Picasso’s “Portrait of Suzanne Bloch” and the Brazilian artist Candido Portinari’s “Coffee Worker,” valued at $5 million, were in perfect condition when found at a house on the city’s outskirts.

The police arrested one suspect, Francisco Laerton Lopes de Lima, on Dec. 27, and his capture led them to Robson de Jesus Jordao, who was arrested on Tuesday. Police Chief Mauricio Freire said the two men had long criminal records, including participation in previous robbery attempts at the museum. Mr. Neves said both paintings would be on view in their previous locations when the museum opens on Friday.
