The Governor of the Brazilian State of São Paulo, João Doria, is in Davos, Switzerland, to attend a busy official schedule of meetings, seminars and panels at the World Economic Forum.

At Davos, the Governor will showcase a robust privatization package that is ready for takeoff with the selling of state owned assets, such as regional airports, and public-private partnerships for expansion and management of railways, new underground lines and hundreds of miles of highways.

“Our main goal is to attract quality foreign investment to São Paulo,” said Mr. Doria.

On Tuesday (22), the Governor will be present at the special address by the Brazilian president, Mr. Jair Bolsonaro, which is to be followed by a press conference. Mr. Doria will then attend the seminar “New Era in Latin America”, which will have five Latin Americam presidents as speakers: Iván Duque (Colombia), Carlos Quesada (Costa Rica), LenínMoreno (Ecuador), Mario Benitez (Paraguay) and Peru (Martín Vizcarra Cornejo). A dinner with executives of BTG Pactual bank is to close the Governor’s schedule for the day.

On Wednesday (23), Mr. Doria will be a speaker at the seminar “The Future of Brazil”, along with President Jair Bolsonaro and Brazilian ministers Paulo Guedes (Economy), Sergio Moro (Justice), Ernesto Araújo (Foreing Affairs) and Gustavo Bebbiano (chief of staff to the Presidency).

Also on Wednesday, the Governor is to have meetings with Scott Strazik (CEO, General Electric Global), Francisco Starace (CEO, Enel Group) and James E. Bradner (CEO, Novartis). To close the day there will be a dinner themed “Human-Centred Future for Latin America” attended by Mr. Bolsonaro and the presidents of Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Peru.

On Thursday (24), Mr. Doria will meet Kenneth Frazier (CEO, Merck & Co. World) along with dr. Michael Nally (President, Merck Vaccines) and dr. Julie Gerberding (VP, Merck Global Public Policy). Later the Governor is to have a meeting with AT&T executives Lori Lee (CEO, Latin America), John Donovan (CEO, Communications) and Karim Lesina (VP, International External & Regulatory Affairs).

As his final appointment at the World Economic Forum, the Governor will attend the seminar “Return of the Strongman”, of which he will be a speaker along with Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (CEO, SOC Films), Kumi Naidoo (secretary-general, Amnesty International), Moisés Naim (Carnegie Endowment for International Peace) and Ngaite Woods (dean, Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford).
