Teatro São Pedro
In 1998, São Paulo got a present: one of the city's most traditional cultural places, Teatro São Pedro (São Pedro Theater), in Barra Funda, was reopened. Since its first opening, on January 17, 1917, Teatro São Pedro, built by the Portuguese immigrant Manuel Fernando Lopes, has been stage for eclectic performances, cinema sessions, and a number of different types of shows, dramas and concerts. After being entirely renovated and modernized by the Government of the State of São Paulo, the theater, now equipped with modern lighting and acoustic resources, was reopened in 1998. It has a capacity for 800 people and a parking lot for 350 cars.
