Teatro Estadual Maestro Francisco Paulo Russo
Designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer and opened in 1991, it is one of the best theatres in the state's countryside region, with capacity for 466 people. It has a modern lighting system, elevator with capacity for two tons, Italian-style stage, and it is appropriate for dance, theater and orchestra performances, and concerts. Located in Araras, the theatre also has an amphitheater with 126 seats. It is run by Secretaria Estadual da Cultura (the State Department of Culture).
