Auditório Cláudio Santoro

Auditório Cláudio Santoro (Cláudio Santoro Auditorium), a tribute to the composer, was created with Festival de Inverno de Campos do Jordão (Campos do Jordão Winter Festival). The first edition of the festival, in 1970, was held at Palácio de Inverno of the State Government. The festival became very famous and it was necessary to build a specific place for it. The new auditorium was opened in 1979. The modern project has everything artists and the public need: perfect stage and dressing rooms and acoustic system in compliance with international standards. It has a capacity for 814 people in the orchestra and 48 people in the boxes. Although it has been conceived to be a concert room, Auditório Cláudio Santoro is also appropriate for dance performances, theater plays and several different types of concerts and conferences. Outside, there is an outdoor museum: Museu Felicia Leirner (Felicia Leirner Museum), with the artist's sculptures.
